What are your best ideas for using your outdoor space? Do you love to host parties with lots of space for mingling? Do you envision intimate gatherings with close seating arrangements and fire or water features? Creating an outdoor space is a long-term investment, so think through how you will use your new space today, and how you will want to use it in 10 years. Design
What are the elements you love in outdoor design? It’s time to gather inspiration! Head on over to Pinterest, Instagram, Houzz, or your favorite catalogs or books and pay attention to the details that are consistent across the pictures you love. Do you love the look of real wood or the color options of composite? Do you prefer cool gray or warm brown tones? What railings do you like (black, white, bronze, or wood)? Do you prefer a more modern or traditional look? Collect pictures, articles, and ideas that inspire you and wil help equip you to best communicate your design dream. Our Design Consultants will look and listen and then make recommendations based on your ideas and their extensive experience with real-world construction.
Define
How much of your backyard do you want to be dedicated to your dream design? Do you know what materials you would like to use (e.g., do you prefer lower-cost wood or lower-maintenance composite)? Do you want a breezy deck or a shaded screen porch? Are there features, like an outdoor kitchen or pergola, that are must-haves? If you have a design dream that is multi-layered, what aspects would you prioritize? What do you value most overall: cost, ease of maintenance, or beauty?
